Since 1938, EBY has been at the forefront of innovation within the agri and equine industry. EBY’s aluminum transportation equipment is recognized for their exceedingly competitive empty weights, durable construction, attractive appearance and advanced designs. In addition to trailers, EBY manufactures all aluminum truck bodies for agriculture, landscape (commercial and residential), and industrial applications.

EBY horse trailers, livestock trailers, bulk commodities trailers and truck bodies are sold throughout the United States and Canada by a strategically located dealer network and factory branches in Blue Ball, PA; West Jefferson, OH; and Story City, IA. EBY equipment can also be exported internationally through ports in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Newark, NJ.

Producing Quality Agri Transportation Products Since 1938M.H. EBY was started in 1938, when Menno H. Eby, Sr. purchased a small woodworking and chair shop in Blue Ball, PA. Within a few years, he doubled the shop size and began to manufacture wood livestock bodies, a market niche where quality craftsmanship and the ability to provide custom features were important to the customers he served. Originally, EBY products were made primarily of wood and steel, but the EBY commitment to innovation eventually lead to the introduction of aluminum into EBY’s products. Upon Menno H. Eby, Sr.’s retirement in 1972, ownership of the company was passed to his son, Menno H. Eby, Jr., who then incorporated the business in 1974. In the early 70s, Menno Eby, Jr. pioneered the switch of the complete EBY line of products to aluminum. The use of this corrosion-resistant material, coupled with the company’s innovative designs, has allowed EBY to set new standards in aluminum agri-transportation equipment. In 1984, due to the increased demand for its equipment, the company moved from its original location to a new, modern, state-of-the-art 55,000 square foot facility. Today, EBY remains family owned and operated. With the continued guidance of Menno Jr., the leadership is being passed onto the 3rd generation of Ebys, M. Travis and Nick, ensuring that the company is poised for future expansion and continued success.

Equipment For The Way You Do BusinessAt our Pennsylvania corporate center and manufacturing plant, our focus is on building commercial and application engineered equipment. Located in the rural countryside of Lancaster County in Blue Ball, Pennsylvania, this 55,000 square foot plant manufactures standard and nonstandard trailers and bodies for the agricultural and equine markets. This location is also a retail sales center, selling the full line of EBY equipment. We also market and service Timpte bulk commodity grain trailers and Great Dane Super Seal refrigerated trailers. All products sold at our Pennsylvania facility are supported by a full service five-bay service shop and fully stocked parts department.

Ohio Operation Focuses On Standard Trailers to Supply a Growing Demand for Livestock Trailers NationwideIn 1990, a new manufacturing and sales facility was opened in West Jefferson, OH to supply a growingdemand for standard livestock trailers. This modern and expanded facility now totals 25,000 square feet. In addition to manufacturing trailers to 26’ in length, the Ohio location provides repair service and parts, sells and services Timpte bulk commodity trailers and distributes the entire line of EBY transportation products.

From the Ohio operation, EBY continues to expand its market through a growing dealer network. EBY iscommitted to support this dedicated dealer group with a full line of agri and equine transportation equipment. In addition, factory trained product and sales specialists are available at this location to assist customers and dealers.

Expanding To Better Serve A Growing MarketIn the Spring of 2005, EBY opened a new facility in Story City, Iowa to better serve the Midwest and Western markets. Ideally located with instant access to Interstate 35, this new state-of-the-art facility is 15 miles north of Ames and 45 miles north of Des Moines. This location affords an exceptional opportunity for EBY to provide products, service and parts to existing and new customers in the Midwest. In addition, this new, efficient 33,000 square foot operation will be building EBY’s increasingly popular Bull-Ride™ and Trans-Pork™ Series punch-panel semi-livestock trailers. This location reaffirms EBY’s commitment to continued growth and dedication to the semi- livestock trailer business.
